Telehealth Therapy In New York | Alyssa Zimmerman, LCSW
A space where your mind is understood, not judged.
I believe therapy should be a place where your brain is seen and understood. My goal is to help you embrace how you think, feel, and process the world while building practical strategies to thrive through grief, change, and life’s curveballs.
I’M ALYSSA ZIMMERMAN, LCSW
I help adults navigate the uniqueness of neurodivergent brains, including ADHD and autism, as well as life transitions and grief.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose approach combines curiosity, insight, and practical strategies to help clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. I believe therapy is a place to embrace how you think, feel, and process the world, without judgment,
Permission to be human
No one fits a box, and your experiences are valid. I prioritize curiosity over shame, because it is simply not an effective catalyst for change, and understanding yourself is always more interesting than criticizing yourself. Connection matters deeply to me, as growth happens in conversation, not isolation, and I find that a little levity goes a long way. Life is hard, but humor makes it a bit more bearable.
SPECIALTIES
Neurodivergence
I help neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD and Autism, understand how their brains shape thinking, emotions, and relationships.
Grief & Loss
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and there’s no one “right” way to navigate it. I support clients through the death of a loved one, relationship endings, or major life changes, helping you process emotions, find meaning, and regain balance.
Identity & Self Discovery
Life transitions and questions about who you are can feel overwhelming. Through curiosity and non judgment, I help clients explore values, goals, relationships, and thought patterns that shape your sense of self.
