Telehealth Therapy In New York | Alyssa Zimmerman, LCSW
A space where your experience is understood, not judged.
Maybe you’ve always felt a beat behind, or a few steps sideways, from everyone else. Maybe grief or a big change knowcked you out of rhythm. Whatever your situation, you don’t need to be fixed into someone more convenient. We’ll figure out what works for you, and build from there.
I’M ALYSSA ZIMMERMAN, LCSW
I work with neurodivergent folks, people experiencing grief, and anyone navigating big changes or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves.
Sessions with me are collaborative and conversational. We’ll take time to understand the patterns behind what feels hard, and you’ll leave with practical tools to try between sessions. I draw from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, along with mindfulness and a little humor when it helps.
Permission to be human
No one fits a box, and your experiences are valid. I prioritize curiosity over shame, because it is simply not an effective catalyst for change, and understanding yourself is always more interesting than criticizing yourself. Connection matters deeply to me, as growth happens in conversation, not isolation, and I find that a little levity goes a long way. Life is hard, but humor makes it a bit more bearable.
SPECIALTIES
Neurodivergence
I help neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD and Autism, understand how their brains shape thinking, emotions, and relationships.
Grief & Loss
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and there’s no one “right” way to navigate it. I support clients through the death of a loved one, relationship endings, or major life changes, helping you process emotions, find meaning, and regain balance.
Transitions & Identity
Changes in life and questions about who you are can feel overwhelming. Through curiosity and non judgment, I help clients explore values, goals, relationships, and thought patterns that shape your sense of self.
